Important information regarding carline
Many thanks to those of you who are keeping cars out of our lot by riding the shuttle/ walking/ biking/ etc. to school. You are keeping healthy and helping keeping our drop off & pick up lines moving smoothly.
For those of you who need to drive, the office has asked us to remind you to please model good behavior for your kids.
For those of you who need to drive, the office has asked us to remind you to please model good behavior for your kids.
- If your children need a little more time to get their backpacks together, need your assistance with seatbelt or passenger chair in sport cars, please park in the lower lot and walk them to the dropoff points.
- Please work your way carefully around the Kindergarten drop off and into the main line. Do not stop by the Flagpole! Pull all the way forward (as close to the dolphin sign/lower lot as possible) before dropping off or picking up your children.
- Please do not store your child's belongings in the TRUNK of your car and have them retrieve it in car line. This is a MAJOR safety concern! Keep all backpacks/book bags/school supplies inside the car.
- Please drop children off only at the drop off curb, not by stopping next to it and having them walk through traffic.
- Please have your children exit your vehicle on the PASSENGER SIDE only. This is for your child's safety!
- Please do not PARK your car and exit your vehicle to assist your child. If your child needs additional assistance, please park in the lower lot.
- Please do not hiss or snap at those trying to keep the line moving and your children safe. Do not beep at other cars.
- Please do not PARK your car in the carpool lane and leave it UNATTENDED.
- Never, NEVER double park and ask your child to run through a lane of cars in order to jump into the car.
- If you find the carpool lane too slow, try dropping your child at the bottom of the hill and have them walk up. There are designated drop off zones on both sides of Parkway Calabasas! Don’t stop in the red zone. You can have your children ride the FREE city shuttle to school. Find out more by going to City of Calabasas web site or you can carpool with your neighbors.
- Students who want to use the crosswalk must do so with the crossing guard!
- Do NOT cross the lower driveway on Paseo Primario (near the lower parking lot and YMCA)! During drop-off and pickup times, due to heavy traffic flow, this is extremely dangerous.
- Keep your phone shut off (even if it’s hands free) until you exit the school property!
Info for Calabasas Hills Residents
CALABASAS HILLS RESIDENTS -- PLEASE DON'T USE THE PARKING LOT OR CAR LINE!
If you live in Calabasas Hills, please respect the agreement your HOA made with the City to allow the gates, and please do not drive into the parking lot or car line. We have a wonderful crossing guard at your Paseo Primario gates, and she will help kids who exit their cars inside the lower gate to walk on the sidewalk next to the gate, cross the street, and safely walk to the stairs and sidewalk in front of the K rooms. If you prefer, your children can exit your car above the top gate, and safely walk down the stairway to the school entrance behind the K yard, or walk through the pedestrian gate and then go down the stairs to the sidewalk in front of the K rooms. You can reverse the process in the afternoon! If you want to meet your child after school in the lunch shelter or at the K gates, simply park on the street behind your gates and walk on down to school.
If you have any questions regarding carline, please contact our PFA Traffic & Safety Directors, Marci Cole & Tiffany Lawrence, via email at [email protected].
